Working from home with a toddler constantly underfoot is both wonderful and challenging... it takes a lot of patience, flexibility and the necessity to relax about time frames - and mess! I don't nearly get through what I aim to in a day and my chunks of time are really unpredictable. Some days I don't even make it into the studio at all... and some days there are priceless moments like these when we are both happily painting away together...
Okay, so I'm just a tad excited to say that the very first few works of mine for Penny Farthing Design House are rolling into their Balmain gallery. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work with such lovely people! Their choice of sizing, framing and expert styling (check out their gorgeously styled pics through the above link) are just gorgeous for my prints and I'm thrilled to bits! I happy snapped these pics of a few of my pieces when I popped in...
The beginning of this year held a very exciting adventure in store. A decision to not return to classroom teaching until my littlest is a little bigger, and instead work from home creating artwork in my studio! Hooray! I have to say, from the very outset, that none of this would be underway without the encouragement and support of some really incredible people in my life - you know who you all are, and I'm so grateful for your enthusiasm and positivity! The year kicked off with the creation of a commissioned piece for a gorgeous friend of mine who married her handsome prince in January. She was really specific about what she wanted and, after chasing me for about a year to dust off my paintbrushes and do it for her, it was finally time. She named it "New Beginnings', which was so apt for both of us! Big love and all the happiness in the world to Robbie, Alex and Ella xxx |
